A thirty-four-year-old father was arrested by the police in the Lindula police for pouring scalding hot water on his three-year-old son. The incident occurred following a heated argument with the child’s mother at their residence in Talawakele.
The child is currently receiving medical treatment at a hospital for the burns.
According to the police, It has been revealed that the child’s father came home and beat the child due to an argument with the mother and took hot water from the kettle in the kitchen and poured it on the child’s body.
The accused father is set to appear before the Nuwara-Eliya Magistrate’s Court July 26.
