Donation of Medical Supplies by the Government of Malaysia

Based on the request made by the Ministry of Health of Sri Lanka to assist in acquiring medical supplies for Sri Lanka, the High Commission of Sri Lanka in Kuala Lumpur reached out to the Government of Malaysia for their support. The Government of Malaysia has extended a goodwill gesture by donating a consignment of urgently required medical supplies to Sri Lanka.

At a symbolic handing-over ceremony held at the Ministry of Health of Malaysia on 31 October 2022, Minister of Health of Malaysia, Khairy Jamaluddin symbolically handed over the donation which is valued at USD 63,100/- to the High Commissioner of Sri Lanka in Malaysia, Air Chief Marshal (Retd) Sumangala Dias.

Sri Lanka’s National carrier, Sri Lankan Airlines graciously agreed to airlift the donation free of charge and the consignment was dispatched by Flight UL 319 which departed from Kuala Lumpur on 29 October, 2022 to Colombo.
