The leader of the Dawoodi Bohra community His Holiness Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin met with the President of Sri Lanka Ranil Wickremesinghe. Syedna Saifuddin and the President discussed the historic bond and friendship between Sri Lanka and the leaders of the Dawoodi Bohra community.
During the meeting, H.H. Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin prayed for the development of Sri Lanka and emphasized being self-sufficient in their food needs, and striving to export the excess agricultural produce and grains to the rest of the world.
Nearly one million members of the Bohra community live in a number of countries including India, Pakistan, the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Sri Lanka and Australia.
Bohra community has contributed lot to the Sri Lankan economy through investment and trade. Also they helped during the COVID pandemic including the contribution to the ‘Itukama’ Covid-19 Fund”. ( LankaXpress.com )
