A driver of a bus has managed to stop the bus as its brakes fail and it is veering off the cliff, reports ADA newspaper.
The police say that when the brakes of the CTB bus traveling from Badulla to Colombo failed and it was going to the cliff, the driver stopped the bus by holding it on a mound of earth and saved the lives of more than 50 passengers.
While this bus was running on the steeply sloping road in Haputale, Beragala, the brakes were suddenly turned off, and while the bus was going downhill, it caught a clod of earth across a ditch on the right and stopped the bus. The bus driver managed to save the lives of passengers.
