A trade union action has been launched by the Sri Lanka Association of Government Medical Laboratory Technologists at the Colombo National Hospital over five demands.
According to a spokesman of the Association, the five demands include the unnecessary intervention of several officials into the system that has hampered the smooth functioning of the laboratory services.
The laboratory workers have been compelled to resort to a trade union action as several rounds of discussions with the Director General of Health Services ended with no solution to the burning issues.
