Sri Lanka President Ranil Wickremesinghe has decided to appoint a committee chaired by a retired Supreme Court judge to inquire into the allegations made by Channel 4 on the Easter Sunday Attacks & the government intends to appoint a Parliamentary Select Committee to investigate the allegation leveled by a former Attorney General alleging that there is a mastermind behind the Easter attack.

Sri Lanka President Wickremesinghe noted that upon completion of the two investigations into the Easter attacks, the reports from the Parliamentary Select Committee & the Presidential Commission on the Easter bomb attack will be presented to parliament before any final decisions are made – .

British television Channel4 program has alleged that Sri Lankan military intelligence, especially Major General Suresh Sallay, the present Director General of the State Intelligence Service of Sri Lanka, was complicit in the 2019 Easter Sunday suicide bombings that killed 269 people.

Meanwhile , Sri Lanka’s Ministry of Defense has categorically rejected the “Reprehensible” allegations made by Britain’s Channel 4 TV network against the senior Sri Lankan military officers over the Easter Sunday Attacks and reiterated the government’s “unwavering” commitment to the truth, justice and the well-being of the Nation.

Issuing a statement, the Defense Ministry vehemently denounced the Channel 4’s accusation of the Military Intelligence and Major General Suresh Sallay, the present Director General of the State Intelligence Service of Sri Lanka of orchestrating the attack and assisting the bombers.
