In a recent announcement, State Minister Shehan Semasinghe assured that welfare benefit payments for low-income senior citizens, kidney patients, and differently abled individuals will continue without any alterations until the implementation of a new and improved system. The decision aims to ensure the uninterrupted support for these vulnerable groups during the transition period.

“The current welfare benefit payments for Low-Income Senior Citizens, Kidney Patients and Differently Abled will remain unchanged until the new system is developed. We request the beneficiaries to open a bank account & inform the divisional secretariat for future transactions” State Minister Shehan Semasinghe.
