Army Rescues Wayamba University Student from Treacherous Alagalla Mountain Descent
In a rescue operation, troops of the Sri Lanka Army successfully saved a second-year student from the Faculty of Technology at Wayamba University. The student, hailing from Kalmunai, had fallen down the steep slopes of Alagalla Mountain in Kegalle while descending from a camping trip with fellow students.
The ten students, all second-year Technology faculty members, had embarked on a camping expedition to Alagalla Mountain in Kegalle. The incident occurred during their descent when one student lost footing and tumbled down a rocky cliff.
