Leader of the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) Anura Kumara Dissanayake revealed to the country extensive details of serious frauds and corruption committed by the politicians from the country’s most powerful politician to the Pradeshiya Sabha member.
Accordingly, it is reported that a number of frauds and corruptions of politicians and government officials who plundered the public wealth of the country on a large scale were to be exposed to the media today.
Speaking at the media briefing organized by Anti-Corruption unit “Voice Against Corruption / VAC ” at the Sri Lanka Foundation Institute, MP Dissanayake said there are a large number of “files” containing the information on individuals engaged in corruption reported internationally link Sri Lanka as well.
JVP leader said even the chairman of the Bribery or Corruption Commission is under investigation by the commission itself regarding the acceptance of a bribe to release a vehicle.
MP Dissanayake said recently an international revelation was made that the government in 2014 paid USD 6.5 million through then Governor of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka Ajith Nivard Cabraal to an American businessman Imaad Zuberi, who was allegedly a CIA mole, to buy influence and fix Sri Lanka’s image in the United States.
