According to the NBRO, Air Quality Index that measures Air pollution, Kandy has recorded 155 today (11) as at 9am. 100 – 150 in the AQI is termed ” Unhealthy for sensitive groups “.

Dr Anil Jasinghe, Secretary, Ministry of Environment requests children & elderly individuals with respiratory & heart diseases to wear a face mask during outdoor activities.

As per latest Air Quality index released at 8am today, an increase in pollution levels reported in some areas compared to yesterday.
