The Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) General Employees’ Union today denied the reports circulating in several media regarding the halting of the refining of 95 Octane petrol at the Sapugaskanda oil refinery.

Union president Ashoka Ranwala said that currently there is a shortage of Octane 95 petrol at refueling stations around the country.

This fuel shortage has occurred due to the filling stations having not placed their orders for this month on time.

However, the CPC had placed the order immediately. However, there has been no operations shut down at the Sapugaskanda oil refinery, he added.
