The election of the current President and the granting of nearly 2 / 3rds of the power in the Parliamentary Elections hid the confidence of the people in President Gotabaya Rajapaksa and the rejection of the people by the 2015-2019 government. Although he has many personal weaknesses, this is not his only personal weakness. It is the result of a long history of economic and political policy. It will only intensify during the presidency. In this way our country and people have no future. The deepest economic crisis in our country has been created by focusing on debt. The income received by the treasury is not enough to pay the loan installments and interest.
There is a situation where the dollar earned in a year is not enough to pay the interest installments. Due to this the government prints a lot of money. One trillion rupees has been printed after the present government came to power. In one day this week, over 200 billion rupees were printed.
