A six-month-old infant and a nine-year-old boy who had been abandoned by their mother in Ambalangoda were handed over to the Police by a Tuk-Tuk driver.

The driver said a woman entrusted him with the two children, asking them to be looked after for a short while. The driver had then decided to hand over the children to the Police as their mother had not returned for the children.

Police officers said that the children had been in extreme hunger while the infant was comforted with great difficulty.
