According to Institute for Health Policy IHP data, Sri Lanka’s “Test Positivity Rate” is increasing further. Test positivity (using PCR tests) shows as 19.2% while seven day average shows as 18%. In January first week the rate was about 6%. According to the data reported by the IHP, this is the highest Test Positivity Rate since October last year. Last year August month, Sri Lanka’s Test Positivity Rate increased upto 34%.

Sri Lanka has reported 634,333 COVID-19 cases out of which 596,639 patients have recovered and been discharged from hospitals, bringing down the active patient count to 21,745. A total of 15,949 deaths have been reported from the virus.
