Sri Lanka Women and New Zealand Women, 1st T20I Match

New Zealand women won the 1st T20i match against Sri Lanka Women by 5 wickets. Sri Lanka Women made 106 runs for 9 wickets during 20 overs. NZW scored 107 for 5 wickets for 18.5 overs. New Zealand team won the toss and elected to field first.

SLW will lock horns with New Zealand women in the first game of the three-match T20I series starting on Saturday, July 08 at P Sara Oval, Colombo.

Having won the ODI series by 2-1, Sri Lanka will be eager to carry their momentum ahead in the T20I series as well with an aim to thrash the White Ferns once again.

However, they will be well aware of the fact that New Zealand have the upper hand over them in T20Is as they’ve beaten them on all ten occasions the two teams have met each other. Hence, despite losing the ODI series, the Sophie Devine-led side will be high on confidence to crush Sri Lanka once again in the upcoming series.
