President Ranil Wickremesinghe to Contest as Independent in Presidential Election

President Ranil Wickremesinghe is to contest as an independent for the forthcoming Presidential Election. Ronald Perera PC has placed a cash deposit on behalf of President Wickremesinghe, formalizing his bid for the presidency.

The Presidential Election is set to take place on 21st September 2024, with nominations being accepted on 15th August 2024, as per the latest gazette notification issued by the Elections Commission.
