Laugfs Gas states that a gas ship containing 5500 MT of LP Gas has returned since they were NOT provided the required LC for US $ 4.9 Million by a state bank for payment to unload gas. Therefore, they will not be able to provide gas to consumers during the festive season says Chairman LAUGFS.
Currently Sri Lanka is experiencing both Laugfs and Litro gas shortage in the market. Long queues report at gas collection points island-wide.
Last month, Price of a 12.5 Kg cylinder of Laugfs LP gas increased to Rs. 4,199.
