The Paththirippuwa of the controversial model Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, located in Wadakada, Pothuhera, Kurunegala, is currently being demolished.
President Ranil Wickremesinghe has instructed the Inspector General of Police to immediately start investigations regarding the request made by the Mahanayake Theras of Asgiri and Malwathu Chapters and the Diyawadana Nilame of the Dalada Maligawa regarding a fake Dalada Maligawa is being constructed in Wadakada, Kurunegala.
Recently former Minister Mervin Silva also requested to remove that building.
