According to police, so far over 2000 arrested over the May 9th unrest in Sri Lanka. Police spokesman says 2072 suspects arrested and out of them 922 suspects remanded while over 1000 persons released on bail. Police spokesman express gratitude to the public for their interest and assistance in identifying the suspects. Police received 854 complaints.

Anti-government protesters set on fire and damaged the residences and offices of at least 100 politicians, including over 70 parliamentarians. More than 80 vehicles including buses which transported pro-government protesters were either set on fire or damaged. Police received 854 complaints.
