Anuradhapura police arrested a monk and two suspects over treasure hunting incident. Fifty-two gold coins, suspected to have been taken from a treasure, were found in the possession of the monk at the time of the seizure. The police suspect that this monk is also involved in the treasure hunt.
The arrested suspect is 63 year-old monk who live in Gampola Temple.
The suspects are scheduled to appear before the Anuradhapura Magistrate’s Court today and the Anuradhapura Police are conducting further investigations.
