At a time when donors are coming forward to provide essential medical equipment to the hospital system in Sri Lanka which has been severely affected by the Covid Disease, with the intervention of the Wattala Lions Club, the Sydney Sri Lankan Lions Club of
Australia, The Dot Charity Foundation of Australia, the New South Wales Sri Lankan Friends Association of Australia and the Ratnapura Adaraneeya Api Facebook Group together donated 06 nos AirV O2 highflow machines worth Rs. 100 lakhs and a stock of
other medical equipment with the participation of Dr. Sudarshini Fernandopulle, State Minister Primary Health Care, Epidemics and Covid Disease Control at the Ministry of Health.
The donation was made to Army Hospital, Bibile Base Hospital, Balangoda Base Hospital, Kalutara General Hospital, Ratnapura General Hospital and IDH Hospital with six mobile highflow machines to provide oxygen to patients suffering from Covid infection.
Lion’s President Rajaratnam Rajkumar, First Vice Lion’s President Dr. Anoma Wijesinghe, Second Lion’s President Clasidos Peter and former Lion’s President Lakshman Wijesinghe handed over the donations to Dr. Sanjeewa Dodangoda on behalf of the Army Hospital , Dr. GDN Samaruthilaka on behalf of the Bibila Hospital, Pharmacist Indika Kularatne on behalf of Balangoda Hospital, Dr. Ganaja M Samarajeewa on behalf of Kalutara Hospital, Dr. Mudith Karunatilake on behalf of Ratnapura Hospital and Dr. Damayanthi Idampitiya on behalf of IDH Hospital .
