The Free Media Movement (FMM) in partnership with the International Federation of Journalists (IFJ) conducted a leadership training programme in Colombo to enhance the skills of Digital Media Journalists in Sri Lanka.
Selected digital journalists were given the two-day residency leadership training. The workshop was held at the Janaki Hotel, Colombo on November 27 and 28.
Convener of the Free Media Movement (FMM) Lasantha de Silva shared advices to the digital journalists attending the workshop on how to bring public issues and issues of national importance in the form of storytelling through digital platforms.
The issues and threats faced by digital journalists in the recent past were discussed in detail. The hacking of journalists social media accounts, cybersecurity and cybersecurity laws were also deeply discussed.
