World Youth Peace Initiative Launched in Beijing as Global Youth Unite to Mark 80th Anniversary of Anti-Fascist Victory

Beijing, China – The World Youth Conference for Peace convened in Beijing under the theme “Together for Peac, bringing together young representatives from around the globe to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the victory in the World Anti-Fascist War and the founding of the United Nations. The event was jointly organized by the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and the All-China Youth Federation.

To mark the historic occasion, Chinese President Xi Jinping sent a congratulatory letter to the conference. In his message, President Xi highlighted the enduring significance of the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the global victory over fascism. He praised the unity and sacrifice of people around the world who stood against tyranny and laid the foundation for lasting peace.

President Xi emphasized the vital role of youth in preserving and advancing global peace. He expressed hope that young people from all countries will seize this opportunity to engage in meaningful dialogue, strengthen mutual understanding, foster friendships, and become active promoters of peace and sustainable development. “The future of peace lies with the youth,” he said, calling on them to contribute wisdom and strength to building a community with a shared future for mankind.

At the conference, young leaders issued the World Youth Peace Initiative, a global appeal urging youth to uphold peace, promote development, and shape a better future. The initiative calls on young people to:

  • Defend world peace, oppose war and unilateralism, and support true multilateralism and international law;
  • Promote mutual learning among civilizations through inclusivity, dialogue, and cultural exchange;
  • Advocate win-win cooperation by actively participating in global development and implementing the UN 2030 Agenda;
  • Tackle climate change and engage in global environmental efforts;
  • Advance technologies for social good, ensuring innovations are inclusive, responsible, and benefit all of humanity.

As the world faces growing geopolitical and environmental challenges, the youth-driven declaration reaffirmed the collective commitment to peace, justice, and unity. Participants pledged to carry forward the legacy of past generations and build a more inclusive, peaceful, and sustainable global order.
