The post-mortem examination has revealed that the death of the 5 year old child in Mulleriyawa was caused by blood loss after the child’s abdomen was wounded by coming into contact with a sharp object. Earlier police suspected that the injuries have been caused by broken glass bottle pieces.
The police say a grass cutter has look after the child and while he was operating the grass cutting machine, the child was injured while operating the machine.
Later, the grasscutter broke a bottle to show that the child had died in an accident and tried to show that the child had died by breaking the bottle and throwing the bottle pieces on the ground.
51-years old grass cutter has been arrested over the incident.
