Cabinet Greenlights Massive Solar Power Project in Killinochi District with USD 1.7 Billion Investment

In a significant move, the Cabinet approved a Power Purchase Agreement with the United Solar Group of Australia for a groundbreaking venture – a 700 MW Solar Power Project accompanied by a substantial 1500 MWh Battery Energy Storage System. This ambitious initiative, set to be situated on the Poonakary Tank in the Killinochi District, reflects a noteworthy Foreign Direct Investment of USD 1,727 Million.
