Applications Open for Chevening Fellowships: Opportunities for Mid-Career Professionals in South Asia

August 8, 2025 (LankaXpress) – The UK government has officially opened applications for two prestigious Chevening Fellowships: the Chevening Research, Science and Innovation Leadership Fellowship (CRISP) and the Chevening South Asia Journalism Fellowship (SAJP). These fully funded programs offer mid-career professionals from South Asia the opportunity to enhance their knowledge, expand networks, and engage in dynamic short courses or research placements in the United Kingdom.

Chevening Fellowships are designed for professionals who have already demonstrated leadership in their respective fields and are seeking to further their impact through advanced academic and professional development. Fellows will benefit from expert-led training and tailored modules at renowned UK institutions, while also engaging with British culture and building global connections.

The CRISP Fellowship focuses on professionals in science, innovation, policy, and research, while the SAJP is geared toward experienced journalists committed to strengthening public interest media and media policy across the region. Both fellowships are aimed at individuals who have already completed higher education and hold positions of influence in their home countries.

Administered by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), the Chevening Fellowships are part of Britain’s wider public diplomacy efforts to foster mutual understanding and international cooperation.

Interested candidates are encouraged to apply at www.chevening.org/fellowships. Applications are open now, and competition is expected to be strong.
