Health Minister Dr. Keheliya Rambukwella says that all three doses including Booster Shot should be taken for fully vaccination. Accordingly, those who have already received two vaccines should also get the booster vaccine for full vaccination, he said.
He further said that so far more than 51 million doses of the required vaccine have been brought to the country for all three doses. The Minister said that some people were spreading false fears and unfounded propaganda regarding the booster vaccine and that there was no truth in it.
Special booster vaccination program will be implemented from January 29 in those hospitals and MOH offices, and steps will be taken to provide all three doses of the vaccine to every targeted population throughout the island.
The program is being implemented in all health centers with a focus on religious activities and is also designed to further promote the booster vaccination program.
