Police state that 30 shooting incidents have been reported from across the island during the period elapsed from the beginning of this year to 12 March.
Police Media Spokesman DIG Nihal Thalduwa revealed that 21 individuals have been killed in these shooting incidents while 14 others were injured.
According to him, 17 out of 30 shooting incidents had been carried out by organized criminal gangs.
Furthermore, DIG Thalduwa expressed that the other 13 incidents had stemmed from personal disputes, citing details uncovered so far during the investigations.
