Sri Lanka Police arrested a 24-year-old suspect in Trincomalee area for allegedly prompting the LTTE ideology through Internet and social media. The suspect had been involved prompting the LTTE organization and its leader Velupillai Prabhakaran via Facebook groups and WhatsApp groups.
The youth is a Three-wheeler driver and has been arrested by Trincomalee Police on the offences under the Prevention of Terrorism Act (PTA) and under International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights.
The suspect currently detained at Police and to be produced before court today. Further investigations are being continued, Police spokesman says.
