2 parliamentarians arrested over May 9th unrest, remanded

Update: MPs Sanath Nishantha and Milan Jayathilaka have been remanded until 25 May by the Colombo Fort Magistrate’s court today.

SLPP MP Milan Jayathilake and Sanath Nishantha have been arrested by the police CID on May 17 over the incidents that took place on 9 May.

So far 883 persons arrested over the incidents in Galle Face & Colpitty and for attacking persons, causing damages to public & private property Island wide.
