A collection of trade unions have decided to declare the April 20th as a national day of protest and to mobilize the working masses who will continue to strike in the workplace.

Ravi Kumudesh, president of the Medical Laboratory Technologists Association says all trade unions in Sri Lanka are working together with the collective.

Ravi Kumudesh further says that the trade unions and the mass organizations had decided to make an unconditional contribution to the victory of the people’s struggle.

Sri Lanka suffers its worst ever economic crisis, waves of protests and mass uprisings have sent shock waves through the government and thrown the country into a deep political crisis. Youths from across Sri Lanka are gathering in Colombo Galle Face Green and continuously camp protesting 8-days demands President Gotabaya Rajapaksa to step down.
