Sri Lanka President Gotabaya Rajapaksa appointed Dullas Alahapperuma as the new Minister of Mass Media and Information. The Media Minister Dullas Alahapperuma assumed duties today and said that his first priority will be the launch of a television channels dedicated for the education within two weeks.

Dullas Alahapperuma assumed duties as the new Minister of Mass Media at the Ministry of Mass Media this afternoon August 16. No ceremony has been organized to mark the event. After assuming duties the new Minister had a brief discussion with Secretary to the Ministry, Mr Jagath P. Wijeweera and top officials during which he inquired about the current situation and future plan of the Ministry and the institutions under its purview.


The new Minister of Mass Media Dullas Alahapperuma said that he will give priority to the task of launching educational television channels within two weeks for the school children.


Mr. Alapperuma, the former Minister of Power was appointed as the new Minister of Mass Media by President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa this morning (16).
