According to the police spokesperson, Nihal Thalduwa, 38 people have died because of shootings incidents in Sri Lanka. Around 63 shooting incidents have happened, and 29 people got hurt so far this year. He further said that most of the people who are part of these shootings are connected to organized crime groups.
Sri Lanka Police say the number of shooting cases has gone up this year but police spokesperson says that there has been no unusual increase compared to last year data.
