Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) has issued required diesel to the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) to generate electricity. Accordingly 1500 metric tons of diesel will be provided to the CEB daily.
The Ceylon Electricity Board had earlier stated that power cuts would be imposed if the power plants did not get fuel for operation. However, at the request of the Electricity Board, the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation has decided to provide 1500 metric tons of diesel per day as a matter of urgency.
