It has been decided to present the 21st Amendment to the Constitution to Parliament soon.

The party leaders in Parliament recently agreed to repeal the 20th Amendment to the Constitution and bring in the 21st Amendment to the Constitution with positive changes, eliminating the shortcomings of the 19th Amendment.

Bar Association of Sri Lanka (BASL) President Saliya Peiris, PC said the Government should immediately introduce the 21st Amendment to the Constitution repealing the 20th Amendment and restoring viable provisions of the 19th amendment in the new Amendment.

The 21st Amendment Bill proposed by Ranjith Madduma Bandara for the abolition of the Executive Presidency was gazette.
