# Pre-monsoonal conditions active in Sri Lanka

Showery and windy conditions are expected to enhance during the next few days due to pre-monsoonal conditions over the country and surrounding sea areas. Heavy rainfalls are likely over the South-western parts of the country particularly in Western,
Sabaragamuwa, Central and North-western provinces and in Galle, Matara and Mannar districts.

Strong winds about (60-70) kmph accompanied with heavy rainfalls are likely over the sea areas around the country and over the sea area bounded by (0-10)N (60-90)E.

General public, Fishing and naval community are requested to be attentive to future forecasts issued by the Department of Meteorology in this regard.

**Showery and windy conditions are expected to enhance due to pre-monsoonal conditions over the country and surrounding sea areas.**

Showers or thundershowers will occur at times in Western, Sabaragamuwa, Eastern, Northern and North-western provinces and in Galle and Matara districts.

Showers or thundershowers will occur at several places elsewhere of the island after 12.00 noon.

Heavy showers **about 100mm** are likely at some places in Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Eastern and Uva provinces.

**General public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.**
